Using images of moon observations, physical data of my body temperature each night, and long exposure self portraits made while I’m sleeping, I have been working to draw a correlation between the With this naive view, the scale of the world is skewed down; a field, a stand of trees, or an old road can hold the magic and possibility of the American west in 19th century frontier times. In the transition from adolescent to adult, my views of landscape have changed; but the woods near my parents’ house still hold the same mystique and wonder that I remember from my youth. our perception of place affect our experiences of them. Prompted by research conducted by the North American Wood Ape Conservancy (NAWAC) and the Texas Bigfoot Research Center, this project utilizes an archive of incident reports to locate and photograph the sites where the Bigfoot has been seen in East Texas, Western Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma. Akin to photography, mythologies and fables rely on a specific point of view to deliver narrative. These mountains are an iconic symbol of the sublime, aptly named after the color of the peaks at first light of day when the mountains are rendered a vibrant chestnut color. 'G-Q8MJ5J0RR6'); Chronicles of Como Chronicles of Como is a public art project completed in Fort Worth, TX that was conceptualized as a graphic, layered glass façade that changes based on your point of view. Some of my other photographic projects involve looking at and through translucent or transparent materials to find new images that naturally happen through the printed page. Working on this piece for and with the Como community, I wanted to provide a metaphor for the experience of being part of a community or being outside it; that the way you see your peers and relationships differs depending on where you are standing. Two layers of graphic film combine to create a new image depending on the audience’s angle of view. From the street, a striking image of figures and buildings is first noticed, and as you look more closely the abstract verso layer comes into play and engages you to look closer.
